Abstract:

PURPOSE: To process millable urethane rubber without introducing air foams into a molded article, by blending it with an organic isocyanate and an organic peroxide successively.

CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. millable urethane rubber having a molecular weight of 10,000W30,000 is blended with 50pts.wt. organic isocyanate (e.g., 2,4-tolylene diisocyanate, etc.), and then kneaded with 2W3pts.wt. organic peroxide (e.g., dicumyl peroxide) and cured. Calcium carbonate is added to the rubber, if necessary.
