Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the performance on icy road without deteriorating crack resistance and wear resistance of a tread portion having duplex structure by specifying volume of a base tread and composition of a cap tread, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A tread portion A of a tire has duplex structure composed of a base tread 2 and a cap tread 1 arranged outside the base tread 2. In this case, the volume of base tread 2 is determined so as to be 5 to 20% of total volume of the tread A. At the same time, the cap tread 1 is composed of matrix rubber, which contains carbon black by 40 to 100% of raw material rubber in weight, and low hardness vulcanized rubber, which has particles of 0.5 to 3mm in mean diameter and is 4 to 50% of the raw material rubber in weight. Moreover, the above-mentioned composite contains carbon black of 10% or less of natural rubber in weight and has breaking strength of 300kgf/cm<2> or more and 500% modulus of 40 to 100kgf/cm<2> or more.
