PURPOSE: To prevent malfunction such as the reduction of position detecting accuracy even if an input plate is deeply depressed by providing a pressure detecting type coordinate input device with an input device impressing depressing force through flexible members fixed on the periphery part.

CONSTITUTION: The input plate 10 to input positional information is supported by four supporting means 12aW12d, divided pressure of force applied to the plate 10 is transmitted to four pressure detectors 16aW16d fixed on a base plate 14 and four square flexible members 28aW28d made of rubber or the like are fixed on fitting boards 30aW30d lower than the height of the depressing surface of the base plate 14 and the input plate 10 at the peripheral part of the input plate 10. In order to apply preload for preventing spring-back at the depression of the input plate 10 to the pressure detectors, the fitting boards 30aW30d are fixed by screws 32, 34, 36,W etc., so as to apply tension to the flexible members in the about rectangular direction to each side of the input plate 10.
