Abstract:
In a speed reduction device, first and second discs (4,6) are provided to oppose each other, and a plurality of semi-spherical recesses (16a) are provided on the opposing surface of the first disc along a certain pitch circle. A groove (15) is provided on the opposing surface of the second disc, the groove being defined by a cycloidal curve running along a similar pitch circle. Rollable balls (17) are provided to be placed at each of the semi-spherical recess and the groove, the balls are adapted to roll within the recess, and at the same time, rolling along the groove when an orbital motion is transmitted to the second disc to impart to it with a second, rotary motion. A rectifier member (12) is provided to pick up the rotary motion of the second disc.
