PURPOSE: To obtain an expanding device which has a high refrigerating efficiency even in a low temperature region and can constitute a micro-refrigerator by rotating a rotor with fluid to be injected from a fluid injection nozzle and radially supporting it.
CONSTITUTION: A rotary shaft 6 has a rotor 5 for an expanding device. The rotor 5 is disposed in a cylindrical inner space for forming a housing 3. The housing 3 has a plurality of fluid injection nozzles 2 for injecting high pressure fluid. The rotor 5 has a groove 1 inclined at an angle θ to an axial direction of a rotary shaft 6 on its surface. A specified gap 4 is formed between the rotor 5 and the housing 3, and a gap 4 is increased at the groove 1. When fluid is blown in the groove 1, it flows along the shape of the groove 1 to rotate the rotor 5. The shaft 6 is rotated to output a current flowing from a stator 8 for a generator thereby to lose its energy, the fluid to be injected from the nozzles 2 performs a work, and expanded fluid is lowered at its temperature.
