Abstract:
PURPOSE:To stabilize cooling by arranging a warming heater in liquid Helium where the rotor of a superconducting electrical rotary machine having a superconducting field winding connected with an exciting power source is immersed thereby convecting the liquid Helium. CONSTITUTION:A side spacer 11 having a liquid Helium flow path 10 is buried, together with an inter-conductor spacer 12, into a slot 9 for sectioning a superconductor 7 through teeth 8. Upper section of winding is secured firmly by means of a wedge 14 through an upper spacer 13 having a Helium flow path. When the rotor is rotating, strong centrifugal force is applied upward and the liquid Helium fed from the upper section of drawing is warmed through the superconductor section 7 and flows in the direction of an arrow with the density thereof being lowered. A heater 15 is arranged in the flow path 10 in order to produce larger quantity of heat than that being produced through local normal conduction thus promoting convection of liquid Helium.
