Abstract:
The invention relates to a method or a device for controlling a servo clutch positioned together with a vehicle engine in the drive train of a motor vehicle. According to said method the servo clutch is actuated by means of a controllable control element which opens and closes said clutch. Moreover, a speed which represents a rotating movement of a rotary part in the drive train is detected and the control element controlled, in the sense of an opening of the clutch, in accordance with said speed. The invention is characterized by the detection of a gradient which represents the changes over time in the speed detected. The control element is controlled, in the sense of an opening of the clutch, in accordance with said gradient. The invention makes it possible to ensure that in case of a short delay the clutch is opened relatively late and in case of a longer delay opened sufficiently early to prevent the engine from stalling.
