PURPOSE: To obtain a VTR rotary head which can be easily assembled with a small amount of power consumption, by providing a lower fixed cylinder, a rotary magnetic head and an upper fixed cylinder successively on a fixed center shaft coaxially.
CONSTITUTION: A lower fixed cylinder 31 is attached coaxially to a fixed center shaft 33, and an upper fixed cylinder 30 is attached at the upper part of the cylinder 31 with a gap between both cylinders. A rotary head 35 is set at the gap between outer circumference surfaces of cylinders 30 and 31 and then revolved coaxially to the shaft 33 after attached to a rotary member 34 containing a rotor 41. In such a constitution, the weight of the rotary part is reduced to improve the accuracy of a bearing part and to reduce the power consumption. In addition, the effects of the revolving variance, vibrations, etc. can be reduced at the tape traveling.
