PURPOSE: To offer the device having a stable picture output element by transducing the standard pattern having ≥2 levels into an electric signal by a color image pickup element at each start of scanning, recording the data at each picture element unit of the image pickup element and applying standardization at each picture element signal so as to correct variation among sensors.
CONSTITUTION: The output electric signal of a CCD line sensor 3 is amplified by an amplifier 4 and converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter 4. This signal is split into three colors, e.g., white, yellow and cyan corresponding to each color filter and stored respectively in line memories 6, 7 and 8. Devices up to 3∼5 are operated similarly to CCD elements 3, 3', 3" and 3''', the signal is stored respectively in line memories 6, 7, 8 and outputted as a one-line signal. The one-line signal at each color is averaged at each two picture elements by a register 9 and an adder 10 so as to eliminate reflected noise due to sampling. Then the standardization to correct shading is conducted to the signal at each picture element at each sensor.
