Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate a steady speed error, perform accurate speed control and shorten a seek time by applying the output of a speed error amplifier to an integrator with a fixed integral time constant in a deceleration region, adding the output of the speed error amplifier, and driving an actuator with the summing signal. CONSTITUTION:An objective speed signal 5 is inputted to one terminal (a) of the speed error amplifier 7, and the current speed signal 6 of a magnetic head group 11 is inputted to the other terminal (b) from a servo head 12 in the magnetic head group 1. The difference signal between the objective speed signal 5 and current speed signal 6 is amplified by the speed error amplifier 7, whose output signal is inputted to a power amplifier 8 to flow a driving current to the actuator 10 coupled with the magnetic head group 11, thereby accelerating the head group. The acceleration is carried on until the current speed signal 6 coincides with the objective speed signal 5, and then the magnetic head group 11 moves toward a desired track according to the objective speed signal. The power amplifier 8 flows a maximum current to the actuator 10 in an acceleration region regardless of the speed error signal 13 and also flows a current proportional to the speed error signal 13 in a uniform speed or deceleration region.
