Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare perhalogenated olefins in high yield and high selectivity from the corresponding perhalogenated alkanes.
CONSTITUTION: The perhalogenated olefin is prepared by reacting a perhalogenated alkane containing at least 2 carbon atoms and having at least one atom of a halogen selected from chlorine, bromine and iodine with a tris- dialkylamino phosphine of formula P(NR1R2)3 (R1 and R2 are each alkyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms) at ≤60°C.
