Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an erecting mechanism for a swivel-up rollover bar, capable of matching the movement process of the rollover bar with the vehicle condition.

CONSTITUTION: A rollover bar leg which is supported in a swivel bearing on each vehicle side and which can be swivelled about a transverse axis of the vehicle and has a support section which is remote from the swivelling axis and serves to support the vehicle during a rollover movement, the supporting section 4 of the bar leg 3 runs on a curved path 5 when the rollover bar 1 swivels up, the bar leg 3 has a useful length variable with the stroke and hence the curved path 5 differs from a circular arc 7 around the swivel bearing 2 at least over a partial the swivelling angle.
