PURPOSE: To obtain a superior base sheet for a photosensitive resin compsn. used for a credit card, etc. by bringing a water-soluble resin layer formed on a releaseable paper or the like in advance, into contact with the photosensitive resin compsn. applied to a base sheet and transferring said layer to said compsn.
CONSTITUTION: A base sheet 1 made of PVC or the like is coated with a photosensitive resin compsn. 2. A sheet obtained by forming a water-soluble resin layer 3 on a releasable paper or plastic film 4 in advance is brought into contact with the comspn. 2 to transfer th resin 3 to the compsn. 2 by the action of tackiness of an unsatd. monomer partially bleeding on said surface of the compsn. 2. The sheet thus obtained by forming the layer 3 on the compsn. 2 is exposed to a light emitted from an ultrahigh pressured mercury arc lamp or the like past, e.g. a transparent negative image applied to the reverse side of the base sheet 1. It is immersed into an aq. soln. of Na2CO3. As a result, the compsn. is photo-cross-linked or photopolymerized to be freed of tackiness, the layer 3 is fully washed off, and an image sharp in outlines is formed and the surface of the base sheet 1 is clearly disclosed on the nonimage areas. This base sheet is used for a credit card, etc.
