PURPOSE: To obtain a signal of an exact amt. of out of focus by providing a signal extraction means which selects the extraction position of the video signal on an image sensor in a signal processor.
CONSTITUTION: The video signal from an image sensor 8 is made into the signal corresponding to contrast with an amplifier 11, a sample holding circuit 12, a differentiation circuit 13 and an absolute value circuit 14. Said signal is multipled by the extraction signal from a generation circuit 16 for an extraction function in a multiplier 15 and is inputted to an integration circuit 17. The circuit 17 integrates alternately the (rear focus) signal from the left half and (front focus) signal from the right half of the video on the sensor 8 and inputs the same to sample holding circuits 19, 20. The output signals thereof are inputted to a differential amplifier 21, from which the exact out of focus signal is obtd. as a differential signal.
