PURPOSE: To provide a document preparation supporting device capable of automatically adjusting and displaying the shape of a frame based on the contents of a latest table in the process of preparing the document of a table form.

CONSTITUTION: This document preparation supporting device 1 is provided with an input means 2 for inputting the contents of the respective columns of the table and the shape of the frame, a table content storage means 3 for storing the contents of the respective columns of the table inputted by the input means 2, a frame shape storage means 4 for storing the shape of the frame forming the table inputted by the input means 2 as an initial shape and storing the shape of the frame to be changed thereafter, a frame shape adjustment means 5 for receiving the contents of information relating to the table stored in the table content storage means 3 and the frame shape storage means 4, changing the shape of the frame based on the contents and reporting it to the frame shape storage means 4, a table image preparation means 6 for receiving the contents of the information relating to the table stored in the table content storage means 3 and the frame shape storage means 4 and preparing and outputting table images to be displayed based on the contents and an output means 7 for displaying the table images outputted by the table image preparation means 6.
