Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the water stop property by stopping a high water pressure part such as a position between the side wall and the bottom slab of a large scale and extremely deep underground tank with a rubber water stop plate provided with a reinforcing cloth at the surface of the body. SOLUTION: The body is formed of plate-form parts 2a, 2b, anchorage rib parts 3a, 3b, and a semicircular valve 5. A butyl rubber sheet 7 with reinforced cloth is stuck on the surface of the ribs 3a, 3b and the valve 5 to form a rubber water stop plate 1 having a slant section and arrange it in the peripheral direction between the bottom plate 111 and the side wall 109 of the underground tank. Underground water flows in the clearance 11 between the side wall 109 and the bottom plate 111 and the water pressure acts on the stop plate 1 and ribs 3a, 3b are pushed on the side wall 109 and the bottom plate 111 respectively and the sheet 7 is held between the ribs 3a, 3b and the side wall 109 and the bottom plate 111 and anchored therein. The anchoring force increases proportionally to the water pressure as the depth increases. The sheet 7 of which both ends are anchored by the ribs 3a, 3b prevents deformation of the water stop plate 1 resulting from the water pressure. In this way, an absorbing performance of deformation can be increased and the stop plate can cope with a high water pressure.
