Abstract:
The hollow structure according to the invention is obtained by bending over part of its length a corrugated pipe, the troughs (2a, 2b, 2c) of whose waves are filled circumferentially with a curable fibre-reinforced composition, and then subjecting the resulting bent pipe over at least part of its length to a treatment for curing the curable composition. The pipe may comprise longitudinal strengtheners (3b), (braiding or layers of long-pitch helical filaments). The ends of the pipe may have systems allowing communication with the outside or sealed closure, the definitive shaping being followed by a process of curing said composition. The pipe may be wound around a central core or drum. The structure may be used as a pressurized gas container.
