PURPOSE: To enhance convenience in operations to carry in and out objects to/ from a storage by incorporating container transfer device, by which the objects are placed upon horizontally rotating shelves, in which a container drawin/ pushout means is arranged in such a way as capable of advancing and retracting in the radial direction of a vertical moving turn-table.

CONSTITUTION: A rotary shelf 2 is rotated, and a specified container is located in the in/out position, and then a vertical moving table 4 of a container transfer device 1 is elevated or sunk. A draw-in hook of a container drawin/pushout means installed on a turn-table 8 is located under the part of container 40 designed for detention. Then said drawin/pushout means is advanced as well as the above-mentioned vertical moving table 4 is elevated, and the hook is set in engagement with the container 40. The drawin/pushout means is retracted, and the container 40 is drawn out on the turn-table 8, which is now rotated and sunk to the position of a transport truck 43 to be then pushed out thereon. This arrangement assures easy operation for the transfer device with simple construction.
