Abstract:

PURPOSE:To enhance the heat-resistant and wear-resistant capabilities of a seal ring for a non-lubrication oil type reciprocating compressor, by forming, on the outer surface of a parent material, a ceramics layer having a predetermined porosity and a predetermined thickness and having pores filled with self-lubricating materials, so that the apparent elastic modulus of the seal ring is set to be at a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:A ceramics layer 2 having a porocity of 5-30% is formed on the outer surface 11 of a parent material 1 made of metal or ceramics material, so that the radial thickness (l1) of the ceramics layer 2 is set to be in a range of 1-30% of the radial thickness (l). The apparent elastic modulus Ex which is obtained by the combination of the elastic modulus of the parent material 1 and that of the ceramics layer 2, is set to be more than 5X10<3>kg/mm.<2>. The pores of the ceramics layer 2 are charged with a self-lubricant material 3 such as, for example, ethylene tetra-fluoride. With this arrangement, the heat-resistant and wear-resistant capabilities of the seal ring may be enhanced.
