Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the number of keys, by functioning a character search key as an index word backward key, after the operation of a character input and index word forward search key. CONSTITUTION:A mode selecting switch 1 selects modes such as power-off, calculator, English-Japanese, and Japanese-English. In selecting the switch 1 to the English-Japanese mode, when a character forward search key 2 is operated, alphabets are sequentially displayed. In this mode, after designating desired alphabets through the operation of the key 2 or a character backword search key, when a character input and index word forward search key 3 is operated, the designated characters are inputted and English words started from the input characters are sequentially read out from memories for display. A character backward search and index word backward search key 4 functions as the search key until the key 3 is operated, and functions as an index word backward search key after the operation of the key 3.
