PURPOSE: To obtain a general-purpose time division multiplexing device which performs automatically multiplexing of ladder type constitution, by using a multiplexer that gives the time-division multiplexing to the signals given from plural channel units and a control circuit that constitutes a multiplexer in accordance with the speed of transmission.
CONSTITUTION: A control circuit that switches the flow of data information by the transmission speed signal (applied to terminals 1-1-2∼1-n-2) of the channel signal is set at channel input parts 7-1∼7-n. One of multiplexers 3, 4, 5 and 6 which have the multiplexing degree increasing in a ladder form from the input side to the output side is selected and connected to the control circuit. It is not necessary to apply transmission speed signals to all channel input parts. Thus various types of transmission speed channel signals can be connected to each input part to increase the general-purpose performance.
