PURPOSE: To remove irregularity factors of the position precision of an operating gap to the reference surface of a magnetic head base resulting from the irregularity of the thickness of a reinforcing core, by putting the magnetic head base in charge of the reinforcement of one side of a magnetic head chip which has the reinforcing core only at the other side of a main core body.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic head chip 20 has the main core body 21, reinforcing core 22 arranged only on one surface of the main core body, and a coil 23 wound in, what is called, a balance winding. The magnetic head chip 20 is arranged so that its main core body 21 faces the magnetic head base 10 and an adhesive layer of an instantaneous adhesive, etc., is interposed between both to unite the both together; and terminals of the coils 23 are treated and a tape abutting surface is formed by, what is called, rounding polishing to complete the magnetic head.
