PURPOSE: To prepare polyamide yarn having improved water repellency, oil repellency and antifouling properties efficiently, by providing undrawn polyamide yarn with a specific amount of a spinning oil and a specified amount of a perfluoroalkyl group-containing urethane compound, drawing it thermally.
CONSTITUTION: Undrawn polyamide yarn obtained by melt spinning is provided with 0.1W5.0wt% spinning oil containing a smoothing agent (e.g., mineral oil, etc.), an emulsifying agent (e.g., higher alcohol, etc.), an antistatic agent (e.g., anionic surface active agent, etc.), etc. based on the undrawn yarn. It is then coated with 0.03W2.0wt% perfluoroalkyl group-containing urethane compound based on the undrawn yarn, drawn thermally by a heat drawing process, to give the desired polyamide yarn.
USE: Raw yarn for carpets.
