PURPOSE: To avoid the trouble attended with correspondence mistake or the like, by returning automatically receipt information forming a receipt form relating to an original to transmitter as a picture signal at the same time as the end of receiving of the picture signal so as to ensure the receipt as the proof of transmission at the transmission side.

CONSTITUTION: When all the sheets of the original (a) are finished for transmission, a signal representing the end of procedure is transmitted at the final post- procedure and a receiver 2 returns automatically the receipt information immediately. The receipt information is transmitted by the design that a CPU6 extracts the number of sheets of the original (a) stored in a memory 3 and the form of the receipt at first, extracts the said data and time from a timer 4 at the same time and the information of those are converted into character signals at a character generator 5 and returned to a transmitter 1 as the general picture information, i.e., a picture signal via the process of encoding or the like. The circuit of a receiver 2 is disconnected by transmitting the receipt signal and the line of the transmitter 1 is interrupted by receiving it.
