PURPOSE: To reduce the cost of an instrument housing, to lighten the load of masking operation, and to improve the productivity by forming a coating film on a single body of front glass and then forming a resin-made peripheral member such as a side surface case in one body.
CONSTITUTION: The front glass 11 made of transparent resin coated with the film and a facing 14 are set in a metallic mold, and fused resin is poured to form the side surface case 13 in one body; and a bottom surface case 15 and a dial 16 are mounted to constitute the instrument housing 10. Therefore, a masking process during coating is omitted, the space for coating operation is reduced, and only glass 11 is rejected as a defective when a nonconforming film 12 is formed, thereby reducing the cost and also obtaining a large degree of freedom for the design of the side surface case.
