Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain excellent detachability of slag and high cracking resistance and mechanical properties in weld zones by adding specific contents of S and Bi in a flux for submerged arc welding.

CONSTITUTION: In the stage of submerged arc welding by an Ni-base welding wire or by combining the same with a Cr-Ni type stainless steel wire, a flux is contained therein with 0.001W0.3% S alone or total of 1 or ≥2 kinds of compds. in terms of a single substance based on the total weight of the flux and is contained with ≤0.3% Bi alone or total of 1 or ≥2 kinds of compds. in terms of a single substance. Further, 3W40% metallic carbonate, 10W30% titanium oxide, 5W20% metallic fluoride, 8W25% aluminum oxide and 10W30% magnesium oxide are contained therein.
