PURPOSE: To provide controllability for a sheet in transportation into a proper attitude by furnishing paper guides in each space inside the flange of a roll paper feed device.

CONSTITUTION: In this paper feed device, a rotatable shaft 5 is rotated when the end part of a roll paper 1 set on the shaft 5 and held by flanges 2 on both sides is drawn by transport means 3, 4, and thus the roll paper 1 is fed. A paper guide 23 stretching in the direction of paper transport and having a width approx. equal to the distance between the inner side faces of each flange 2 is installed adjacent to each flange 2. Thereby the attitude of the roll paper is correctly controlled into the transport directon to ensure also prevention of the strong friction with a brake device.
