PURPOSE: To provide the titled composition for ink jet printing, having excellent stability with time, giving clear record, and free from clogging of the recording nozzle, by mixing specific amounts of a water-soluble dye, a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ketone compound, an aliphatic sulfone compound, etc. and water.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. of the objective composition is prepared by mixing (A) 0.2W15pt.wt. of a water-soluble dye (E.g. a direct dye), (B) 5W30pts.wt. of at least one 5W7-membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ketone compound (e.g. 2-pyrrolidone), (C) 2W20pts.wt. of at least one compound selected from aliphatic (or cycloaliphatic) sulfone compounds and cycloaliphatic sulfoxide compounds (e.g. dimethyl sulfone, sulfolane, tetramethylene sulfoxide, etc.), (D) water, and if necessary (E) a moisture retainer, a solubilizing agent, etc., stirring the mixture under heating (at about 40W50°C for about 1hr), and filtering under pressure.
USE: For printing, writing utensils, recorders, stamps, etc.
