PURPOSE: To always keep the exciting state of a horizontal deflection output circuit to a safe state by producing the 2nd pulse at a period over after and before the trailing edge of the 1st pulse based on the 1st pulse obtained during the blanking period of a deflection wave from a deflection output stage to make a switching element the interrupting state.
CONSTITUTION: A pulse P4 having nearly equal pulse width is outputted to the 3rd winding 9c of a horizontal deflection output transformer 9 during the blanking period of horizontal deflection and differentiated by a diferentiating circuit to reduce to a differentiated pulse P4d. The differentiated pulse P4d is formed into a negative half wave signal P4dm by a diode 12 and fed to the base of a transistor 13. A rectangular voltage change P5 is produced to the collector 13. Minority carrier storage time τc of a transistor 16 is made short to a degree being not a problem by connecting a diode 17 and a horizontal output transistor 4 is made nonconductive during the period.
