Title:
SURFACE TREATED STEEL PLATE FOR FUEL VESSEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5842789
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a surface treated steel plate for fuel vessels having corrosion resistance to gasoline contg. alcohol by applying an Ni-Sn alloy plating layer on the surface of a steel plate or the underlying plating layer of Ni, Sn, Co thereon. CONSTITUTION:An Ni-Sn alloy plating layer of 0.3-15mu thickness is formed by an electroplating or the like on the surface of a steel plate having cleaned surfaces, whereby a surface treated steel plate having corrosion resistance to gasoline contg. alcohol or alcoholic fuel. If the thickness of the plating layer is <0.3mu, sufficient corrosion resistance is not obtained, and if >=15mu, the corrosion resistance saturates the pawling phenomenon occurs in the stage of forming and working. An Ni-Sn alloy contg. 25-95% Sn is more preferably as the component for plating. The corrosion resistance is improved further by applying a plating layer of Ni, Sn, Co of 0.03-1mu as an underlying film layer or a surface film layer, etc. of chromate or phosphate base.
