PURPOSE: To prevent scattering of a toner and generation of a nasty smell, and to improve a fixing property by providing an induction heating coil for heating on a conductive belt for carrying a recording sheet on which a toner powder image is formed to a fixing part by a flash lamp.
CONSTITUTION: A recording sheet S is carried at a constant speed to a fixing part by a belt 63 which turns counterclockwise, and when the tip part goes into an effective fixing area of the fixing part, a flash lamp 60 emits a flash at a fixed interval, and a flash fixation of a toner powder image T is executed. This flash emission is executed intermittently at the fixed interval until the recording sheet S passes through the fixing part. During this time, a high frequency current is supplied to an induction heating coil 66. As a result, the belt 63 is self-heated, and an auxiliary heating is executed from the back side of the recording sheet S. Accordignly, an exact and effective flash fixation is executed, therefore, it is unnecessary to raise light energy for a flash fixation to the extent that a toner is scattered and a nasty smell is generated.
