Title:
PICTURE PROCESSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59161979
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reproduce color pictures of high quality by reading an original picture after separating it into plural chrominance signals and applying the γ compensation to each read color for compensation of gradation.

CONSTITUTION: Each chrominance signal of Y, M and C which underwent the photoelectric conversion by a CCD photodetecting unit, the digitization and the conversion of complementary colors receive the γ compensation for gradation after the shading compensation. Each 8-bit chrominance signal of Y, M and C is applied to ROMs 302, 305 and 308 via latch circuits 301, 304 and 307 respectively. Here the proper γ value is selected out of a subcontrol unit (not shown in the diagram) in a main body control part 400 to perform the compensation. Then compensation signals of 6-bit level are outputted from ROMs 302, 305 and 308, and these γ-compensated output signals are supplied to a laser modulating unit in the form of binary signals underwent modulation of pulse width after receiving the masking process, the UCR processing and the multi-gradation process.
