Title:
ICE STRENGTHENING SHIP AND MARINE STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5812887
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To aim at lessening friction factors to drift ice as well as obviating freezing by the floating ice, by installing stainless steel materials on the surface of parts of a marine structure subject to a bump with the drift ice.

CONSTITUTION: This marine structure is composed of what supports a platform 1 on top of one cylindrical pillar 2 erected on a base 7 on the seabed, and a platelike stainless steel material 3 is attached to the surface of the said cylindrical pillar 2. Therefore, a drift ice 4 floating on the surface 8 comes colliding with the platelike stainless steel material 3 being installed on the surface of the said pillar 2 in consequence but there is a little coefficient of friction against the drift ice, besides no freezing to the steel material by the floating ice so that ice sticking and freezing to the marine structure is entirely prevented and the effect of the dangerous floating ice may be lessened to the minimum.
