PURPOSE: To enable production of a sintered round shaft which is free from burrs and variance in the diametral size and has excellent out of roundness by sizing and resintering the sintered body formed by compression molding of a powder metal then rolling back and forth the sintered body between two sheets of plates disposed at a prescribed distance.
CONSTITUTION: An upper die 12 is so constituted as to be made movable vertically in the space between both blocks 13 and 14 of a lower die 11 provided with two sheets of blocks 14, 14 having planes. A sintered round bar 18 of a powder metal which is resintered after a sizing treatment is put into the space formed of the space between both blocks 13, 14 of the die 11 and the die 12. A 15° slope 19 is preliminarily provided to the upper part of the block 14 and a relation a=b+d is provided among the space (a) between the blocks 13 and 14, the width (b) of the die 12 and the diameter (d) of the bar 18. When the die 12 is vertically moved, the bar 18 rolls between the die 12 and the block 14 of the die 11, by which the sintered round bar having a uniform diametral size and out of roundness without having burrs is produced.
