Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce reliable braking force while to simplify brake control by combining a Piezo ceramics functionable as an actuator upon application of voltage with a liquid pressure cylinder for producing the braking force. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder hole 6a constructing a wheel cylinder 6 is formed at the portion at one side of caliper body 4 facing with the back face of one friction pad 2 then a piston 7 is fitted in said hole 6a to press a pad plate 2a against the disc 1 side. A piezo ceramics 20 is arranged at one side of caliper body 4 while holding the rear end on a holder 23. While a pair of Piezo ceramics for stopping sliding motion of holder 23 at predetermined position are arranged. In such a manner, Piezo ceramics 20 are combined with the wheel cylinder 6 to perform braking of disc 1 through friction pad 2.
