PURPOSE: To easily perform joining works of large-diameter steel pipes in a short time and to reduce the size and weight of a titled device, by performing centering and tack welding of the joining parts of the large-diameter pipes in interlocking with the push roller at the head part of the main support and grooved part adjusting metallic fixtures installed to the joining part.
CONSTITUTION: While a newly installed steel pipe 12 is fitted to an already installed steel pipe 13, an adjusting metallic fixtures for grooved parts at the end of both pipes 11 is put. A main support 7 is erected on the joining part existing at the inside of the steel pipes and a roller bracket is put over the grooved part of both steel pipes 12 and 13, and then, push rollers 4 are inserted into the grooved part. A horizontal support 7' is slid in the direction of the axis of a shaft 9 and both vertical and horizontal supports are fixed in a cruciate shape by a stopper 10. The deflection and unevenness at four points at the top, bottom, right and left are corrected by means of jacks 3 and the grooved part is expanded, and thus the lateral position of the joining part of both the steel pipes is completely fixed. Then, an auxiliary support is fitted to the shaft and the final correction of unevenness is performed. Then, both the steel pipes are tack welded to each other, and then, the jacks 3 are loosened and moved to the next joining part in such a way that both the vertical and horizontal support are moved in parallel.
