Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable capacities of first and second transfer portions to be mutually uniform by allowing an electrode shape of a side of read-out gate of first and the second transfer electrodes to be equal.
CONSTITUTION: First and second horizontal transfer registers 4 and 5 are formed by arranging a transfer electrode 22R with a storage electrode 21S and a transfer core electrode 21T as a set. First and second transfer electrodes 22R1 and 22R2 which are placed alternately are connected to bus lines 24 and 25 where drive pulses ΦH1 and ΦH2 are applied. A first transfer electrode 21T1 where the drive pulse ΦH1 is applied is divided so that it corresponds to each first transfer portion HR1. Also, a shape of a second transfer electrode 21T2 where the drive pulse ΦH2 is applied is made equal to that of the first transfer electrode 21T1. By forming the second transfer electrode 21T2 so that it is spread over read-out crate portions 2 and 3 as in the first transfer electrode 21T1, an area of the first transfer electrode 22R1 is made equal to that of the second transfer electrode 22R2 and a capacity of a first transfer portion HR1 is made equal to that of a second transfer portion HR2.
