Abstract:

To provide the secureness of transmission efficiency and an improvement in durability as holding down a rise in cost attendant upon a fact that machining accuracy is heightened, in a double-cavity type toroidal continuously variable transmission.

A first supporting means 54 for supporting a pivot shaft installed in the end part of each trunnion is comprises of a first to fourth link arms 55 to 58. The said pivot shaft is supported in two supporting holes 31 and 31 installed at both ends of these link arms 55 to 58. If each pitch alone of these supporting holes 31 and 31 is rightly regulated, any slippage in position relations is absorbed by what these adjacent link arm 55 to 58 are rockingly displaced with each other. Then, a contact state between an inner surface of each disc and a peripheral surface of each roller is uniformized.
