Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal continuously variable transmission and a continuously variable transmission capable of suppressing a large difference from being generated between the lifetime of two bearings rotatably holding an integral output-side disc and determining an axial position and extending the lifetime of the bearings.SOLUTION: A toroidal continuously variable transmission comprises: an integral output-side disc 3A in which a pair of output-side discs are integrated; and a sun gear 110 rotating integrally with the integral output-side disc 3A. The integral output-side disc 3A has thrust bearings 80A and 80B provided on axial two ends, respectively and rotatably supporting the integral output-side disc 3A. One thrust bearing 80A is higher in dynamic load rating than the other thrust bearing 80B. The thrust bearing 80A higher in dynamic load rating mainly receives a thrust bearing applied from the integral output-side disc 3A on the basis of the sun gear 110 that is a helical gear.
