PURPOSE: To manufacture an impeller excellent in the economy and reliability by welding a plurality of blade means to first and second blade fixing members with projection parts.

CONSTITUTION: An impeller 1 of a torque converter is provided with a first blade fixing member 3, a second blade fixing member 4, and blade means 2 located therebetween with the prescribed intervals. The first and second blade fixing members 3, 4 and a plurality of blade means 2 are provided with continuous or discontinuous annular projections 5, 6 on the surface where either of or each of the blade fixing members and blade means are faced to each other. A plurality of blade means 2 are welded to the first and second blade fixing members 3, 4 at least at the projections 5, 6. The torque converter and its impeller which can be easily manufactured can be obtained.
