PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque limiter showing no backlash at the time of transmitting rotation, keeping a stable variation in resistance torque and capable of transmitting a large torque.SOLUTION: A shaft-like inner race, an inner ring enclosing the inner race and a pair of outer rings each of which is arranged at both sides of the inner ring are installed in a housing to have a common central axis. The inner race and the inner ring are engaged to each other in such a way that they may not be rotated to each other and a pair of outer rings and the housing are engaged to each other in such a way that they may not be rotated to each other. An outer peripheral surface of the inner ring is formed with a pair of conical surfaces in which a diameter of central section in an axial direction is maximum and a diameter of the section is decreased toward both end parts, and each of inner peripheral surfaces of the pair of outer rings is formed with an opposing conical surface abutted against the conical surface of the inner ring to depress it in an axial direction. Then, when a rotational torque more than a predetermined value is added between the inner ring and the housing, the inner ring and the housing are relatively rotated against a friction force among the conical surface of the inner ring and the opposing conical surfaces of the pair of outer rings.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
