Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accurately detect a torque by providing exciting means for forming a magnetic circuit having a shaft to be measured as a part of a magnetic path, and detecting means for detecting a magnetostrictive component passing the shaft to be measured, and satisfying predetermined characteristic in the magnetostrictive detecting portion of the axis to be measured. CONSTITUTION:In a torque sensor 1, coils 5a, 5b are associated with resistors 11, 12 to form a bridge circuit, a balance variable resistor 13 is provided in the bridge circuit, an exciting oscillator 14 is connected between the connecting points A and C of the bridge circuit to align the exciting direction in the same direction, a differential amplifier 15 is connected between the connecting points B and B', and detection output is produced from output terminals 16, 17. When a torque is applied to a shaft 2 to be measured in a direction T, the balance of the bridge circuit is destroyed, and an output corresponding to the torque is generated between the terminals 16 and 17. Further, in the sensor 1, the magnetostrictive detection part of the shaft 2 to be measured satisfies predetermined characteristics. Thus, the detection of the torque can be accurately performed.
