PURPOSE: To set a torsion spring securely and speedily by stopping one end of the torsion spring to a stop groove at one spring bearing part in a jig for holding it by the spring bearing part, inserting a second jig into the spring, and rotating a non-stopped end of the spring till it reaches a position of a stop groove in the spring bearing part corresponding to the non-stopped end of the spring to be stopped to the stop groove.

CONSTITUTION: Holding parts 22, 23 of a pair of holding members 26, 27 of a first jig 20 are closed, spring bearing parts 24, 25 are opened, a stop end 40a of a torsion spring (spring) 40 is stopped to a stop groove in the spring bearing part 24, the holding parts 22, 23 are opened, and the spring bearing parts 24, 25 are closed. The spring 40 is thus held between the bearing parts 24, 25. A rotary guide body 31 of a second jig 30 is inserted into this spring 40, and a stop end 40b of the spring 40 is rotated by a pushing member 32 about the center of the rotary guide body 31. When the stop end 40b reaches the position of a stop groove 25c, the stop end 40b is stopped to the stop groove 25c.
