There is provided a capacitance-type touch panel device (100) which comprises a transparent protective base material (10) having an observation side surface and a display device side surface, and two polymer films (20b, 30b) with electrode layers (22, 32) for position detection disposed on the display device side surface of the transparent protective base material. In the capacitance-type touch panel device (100), in each of all the polymer films (20b, 30b) disposed on the display device side surface of the transparent protective base material, the difference between a minimum value and a maximum value in linear expansion coefficient in surface directions is 10.0×10-6 cm/cm °C or less. There is also provided a display unit equipped with such a touch panel device (100, 200, 300).
