To provide a train stopping position detecting device capable of detecting a train stopping position in a stable and precise way even when a rolling stock condition changes.

An on-ground pick up of a train stopping position detecting device is equipped with two coils before and behind a train stopping position along a train running direction. A stopping position detector 34 calculates difference of output voltages of each coil and a train is detected to have stopped at a spot within a predetermined distance or not by detecting whether the absolute value of the calculated voltage difference is within a predetermined range or not. When the difference of the output voltages is calculated to be plus, the train is detected to have stopped before the predetermined distance. When the difference of the output voltage is calculated to be minus, the train is detected to have stopped behind the predetermined distance.
