Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform transaction by reading card information from an IC chip on a transaction card having the IC chip but not a magnetic stripe, or on a transaction card having the IC chip in which magnetic data are broken.SOLUTION: A transaction device of the invention includes an image reading unit for reading a card face image from an inserted transaction card, a terminal identification unit for identifying presence of an IC terminal section by image-analyzing a plurality of partial sections containing an arrangement area of the IC terminal section on the card face of the transaction card from the read card face image by the image reading unit, an IC information reading unit which acquires the card information from the IC chip by electrically contacting the IC terminal of the transaction card with an IC contact section according to the identification result of the terminal identification unit, and a transaction processing unit which perform a prescribed transaction by using the acquired card information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
