Abstract:

To provide a new transition metal compound, an olefin polymerization catalyst and a method for polymerizing an olefin by using the same catalyst.

This transition metal compound is expressed by the general formula: KmMXlLn [wherein, Km is a phenol compound residue containing imino group; Ln is a (heterocyclic) 5-membered compound residue containing the imino group; M is a transition metal atom; and X is H, a halogen atom or an organic group].
