Abstract:
To provide a transmission flat lighting system suppressing the production of a moire pattern that makes it hard to observe an image plane.
In a transmission flat lighting system 1, by disposing a light diffusing plate 11 above a reflection liquid crystal display element L that is a system to be lighted, the rays of light from a transparent substrate 2 are diffused and bright/dark stripes caused by a reflection pattern 7 formed on the transparent substrate 2 is prevented, whereby a moire pattern, or interference fringes of the bright/dark stripes with the liquid crystal cells S of the reflection liquid crystal display element L, can be suppressed, and therefore an image can be well observed.
