Title:
TRANSMISSION SYSTEM WITH RECONSTITUTION MEANS FOR MISSING SIGNAL SAMPLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3888698
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a transmission system where an interpolation error is reduced and the audible quality of a reception signal is considerably improved.
CONSTITUTION: Only a part of a series of signal samples is transmitted to a receiver 6 through a channel 4 by a transmitter 2. Characteristic parameters of the series of many signal samples are determined by a characteristic determination means 12 of the transmitter and are transmitted to the receiver 6. Values are assigned to drop-out signal samples in the receiver by characteristic parameters to reconstitute the drop-out signal samples. If a periodicity longer than the series of signal samples occurs, reconstitution of signal samples is accompanied with a considerably interpolation error. This period is determined in the transmitter and is transmitted to the receiver through the channel, and a periodicity is introduced to a string of reconstituted signal samples by a period introducing means 18, thereby reducing the interpolation error.
