To provide a transmission type screen having excellent visual field angle characteristics, capable of displaying a bright and excellent image with high contrast, and a rear projection type display device equipped with the same.
A transmission type screen 10 includes: a fresnel lens layer 22 arranged on an incident side of video light and configured to bias a direction of travel of the video light; a light control layer 32 arranged closer to a light-emitting side than the fresnel lens layer 22, and having a light transmission part 322 configured to transmit light and a light absorption part 323 configured to absorb light; a light diffusion layer 33 arranged closer to the light-emitting side than the light control layer 32 and having a light diffusion effect; and an optical shape layer 35 arranged closer to the light-emitting side than the fresnel lens layer 22. The transmission type screen 10 has a warped shape with a curved surface. The optical shape layer 35 includes an optical shape part 352 formed by aligning a plurality of unit optical shapes 353. An alignment direction of the unit optical shapes 353 is orthogonal to an alignment direction of the light transmission part 322 and the light absorption part 323, if seen from a front direction of the transmission type screen 10.
